Show monthly or yearly pricing as default

Hey gang,
Getting ready to finally launch our Pro plan for textomap.com. Tryin to figure out which plan we should show as default in the pricing page, monthly or yearly...couldn't find a clear pattern or a logic behind other SaaS websites and how they approached this. Thanks! Dario

Hi Dario, congratulation on the launch of your Pro plan. I am really impressed with how textomap.com looks like. Honestly, I am unsure if you really need any feedback on displaying monthly or annual fee, to me it is more like you are inviting us to get in and visit your website - which again I think it is well made. Nevertheless, I believe showing the cheaper price will invite more attention.

If I am correct, your bigger problem is how to get more traffic into textomap.com. For instance, you advertise in your website that you are available for Wordpress and Wix. I did a simple search on Wordpress plugin and Wix plugin, I could not find textomap. My suggestion is to look into all these channels and make sure you are easily searchable.
    Wordpress plugin page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/textomap/
    Wix plugin page: https://www.wix.com/app-market/category/design-elements/maps--navigation?referral=breadcrumbs

Also, you may try to think of how your potential client will reach you. I believe they all will search on Google like "Wordpress Plugin Map", and likely they will find blogs telling them different plugins available. You may want to reach to these blogs to include you into the list. For example, this blog: https://wpforms.com/best-wordpress-map-plugins/

Lastly, the Chrome extension is interesting. I tried to search in google extension with keyword "map", it does not show textomap. I need to really search for "textomap" to find you. However, ultimately, I am unsure the use case for the Chrome extension, because when I search "map", there is no other map extension. This could be good and bad. The good thing is... you are the first. The bad thing is... probably the question on the use case that causes no other map extension.

Hope these comments help you and textomap.com to get to the next level. :)

From a pricing psychology standpoint it's usually best to show big numbers before small numbers so the small numbers feel smaller

    Hope this helps!

Thanks so in other words show Monthly first I guess :)

You'd show the annual pricing first (because that should be 10-12 times the monthly pricing theoretically)

Then when they switch to monthly they'll see the smaller number and subconsciously it'll be more of a deal to them because they saw the annual pricing first

But the monthly is the lower price as you pay less per month :)... You might be afraid of the commitment and opt for monthly...but the yearly is the lower price...

If I had a product that was $10 per month and I had an annual subscription that was $75 per year, I'd show the $75/year first then have a tab for the $10/month.

Alternatively if you do want to show the monthly first then I'd also describe the monthly as "$10/month ($120/year)" so when they see the "$75/year" for annual then they'd understand the deal more clearly.

Either way you have to show the big number a bit manually to get the viewer to understand the deal (whether you lean towards highlighting monthly or yearly)

If you have enough traffic, try A/B testing it. But again, not worth it if you don't have enough volume.
Generally annual pricing seems to be the preferred default.
