Show your product explainer video and receive feedback

Hi Hackers!

Just as landing pages, explainer videos can be tricky to master.

I just finished the one for my startup in French. Whether you speak French or not, it'd be great to have your feedback on what do you think the product is for.

What is your explainer/demo video?

I loved it! How did you create it and what tools did you use?

    • I liked the pacing and synchronization with music
    • I actually liked the music too, different from the usual fare
    • I thought it was too long. Not knowing French, it looked like you were repeating some parts of the story.

    Here's one of mine: https://youtu.be/LIves92VG40

Thanks for the feedback Girischw! Could I ask you what is your guess the product is after viewing the video once? I used screenflow to make the video. I find it very powerful and there is a huge library of music, stock videos, and photos. There is a learning curve but plenty of tutorials and docs. Also, it's on mac only.

I find your video great. It's very clear and to the point. The value proposition is clear and the ways to use it as well. When you watch it, you do have questions in mind about the product like "does it integrate into my calendar? Does it integrate into my task management system or does it have one?" I guess the purpose of these videos is to prompt such questions so well done! Also, I'm not a native speaker but isn't it "take meeting notes in your agenda"? Or do you mean that the meeting notes are sent to your agenda?

Also, I watched the second video you made and found it somehow smoother and clearer. Maybe because you make it crystal clear that the product is an agenda with advanced features. What tool did you use for these videos?

I would guess that your product is a more powerful version of Trello. How would you describe your differentiation?

Thanks, I used Screenflow as well for the first video. The first video was to show some of the new features to existing users, so it doesn't tell the full story of the product.

The second video is more complete introduction to the product and used Rotato. I found it very hard ot use. It is quite buggy and hard to get the timing right. Also, the spins make it harder for the viewer to see the actual product.

I do like Screenflow but wish it had a few more visual effects. I haven't upgraded to the latest version.

    Hey guys,

What do you think about this: https://youtu.be/Ezt2v6vy3uU

Your explainer is very clear and does the jobs it's supposed to do! The product seems very complete. To me, it would have been great to have an intro with basic greetings and presentation of what you're gonna present, exactly what you wrote and said at the end of the video. I'm not very keen on the second slide "I've shown you..." because I feel "sold to" when I was already convinced that the product works and I could see the value. It's like there was a total trust during the video and this slide gave me second thoughts.
