Hey all,

Been working on this note-taking app for students on the side.

WingNotes splits your notes into two columns — one for descriptions, the other for examples — so you can better structure your thoughts. It was specifically built to help learn or study topics that heavily rely on references (ex. coding).

Would love any feedback you all have on the landing page or the product/features!

    Love it! A landing page where you get to just try the product, it doesn't get better than that.

    I didn't read much of the text, but I didn't need to. I understood that it was a two column markdown notes app and just went right into playing with the features.

    On features, though, I'd suggest adding keyboard shortcuts to all the things. It'd make the two-sided structure a breeze to navigate / take notes.

      Keyboard shortcuts are a great idea. Do you have examples of what shortcuts you would find useful? There are Markdown shortcuts (like CMD+b for bolding text), and I'm planning to make a cheatsheet to explicitly show users what is available. But maybe you have something different in mind?

        I was thinking more about navigating the editor itself:

        • switching between the left and right panes
        • switching between sections
        • adding / removing sections

    Hi Brandon, it's cool you've got a demo but I'd rather hear about your value propositions first, as a high level summary before diving into features.     Hi,

    • The landing page is more like a blog post than a landing page.
    • It's nice that you demonstrated your app in the landing page, but it's too long and wordy. Personally, I didn't spend time to read them all.
    • It's better to have different sections, each section focus on a single point with clear heading title in less than 8 words. Also, include illustrations or images to convey the message of the section. Visitors won't read all the descriptions.

      Thanks for the feedback hosshams! I'll likely move to a more typical header-section structure soon. I namely used the editor to (1) show the demo-able editor, and (2) describe the features. But you're right, I think it make it too wordy to read for most people.
