Siri Shortcuts can be a great way to validate an idea (like this one for my running app, Solemate)

Interesting, but can you share how this validates an idea?

      Hey James, sure thing!

My idea for Solemate is to build a mobile app where users can create and share their own audio guided running workouts. These are a popular feature in both the Nike Run Club app, and the My Fitness Pal app from UnderArmour.

Except that they are pre-recorded workouts, users can not make their own.

Using Siri shortcuts, I was able to make a quick MVP (the link above ^^), using a service I already had on hand. My small community, and some others on IH and twitter have found it useful so far.

The validation comes from finding the ability to create and share these audio guided workouts useful. I'm currently learning SwiftUI, and making the first version of the iOS app at the same time.

The benefit of the app over creating more Siri shortcuts is simplicity, and expanded functionality. Siri shortcuts are limited to time-based workouts only, however a larger number of running workouts are distance rather than time based.

      Thanks for reading!
