But a question to ask yourself first is what's the goal here?

• If it's to get your first customers, it's worth considering whether that's the right strategy at all. Instead, focus on going to the place your customers hang out and engaging with them directly. Here's a resource I made about how to do this more effectively
• If you're doing it to get backlinks, be aware that most of these sites aren't going to impact your ranking in search engines as they are probably adding 'nofollow' to their links to help the engines work out what the purpose is.

If it's the second thing, a strategy to consider is finding a few low-volume but high intent search terms related to your potential customers' pain points. For example: if your product helps people send invoices to their customers, look for terms like 'create an invoice online' or 'online invoice maker' – then write pain point pages that respond to those.

This all ties into value props and understanding what yours are so that you can get those early users more effectively. Here's a vid and a template for doing that.

I run a problem validation platform - needgap, where people post the problems they have for startups to solve and so several side-project makers have shared their projects to the problems they solve.

Problems are the first class citizen for this platform, so the projects are shared in the comments of problems and as a separate posts like PH, ShowHN etc.

So far the feedback has been great from both the makers and the consumers as there's not much noise in the platform.
