As my title, I'm planning to build a community for our product even before the official version is released. When it comes to an engaged community, how do you consider Discord vs Slack? As I have seen Slack is more accessible for people to join and also more popular for B2B market (don't need to create new account for a new platform compared to Discord). Still, the downside is that a lot of people are spamming in many Slack communities and it's also limited if you want to communicate with people via group video call. In contrast, Discord seems to offer more functions.
Any platforms have their own merits and weakness, what about your thoughts? It will be awesome to hear from you about which platform you would prefer.
I prefer Slack.
yeah I think Slack is more for business and Discord tends to be suitable for personal communication.
in my experience Discord is preferred by developer communities, while Slack is good for product / marketing people and more broad communities. So it mostly depends on your audience, ask them where to they like to hang out more
