Smart Home Automation & Data Security

I have been working on a home automation platform (CEREB) that emphasizes data privacy and easy of use. I am generally wary of smart devices and Alexa/Google home streaming data from my house to who-knows-wear, so I built my own platform that I can use to a) control lights and other devices directly and b) monitor data connections from smart devices to the outside world.

I am getting close to launching an initial version to the public, and I would love to hear what smart home devices/brands other people use or other features that you would like to see?

Thanks!

It's a great idea, data privacy and easy of use is definitely something that's lacking in most home automation systems. Personally, I've been working with ajax system for a while, you can check ajax website and learn more about the devices and the system itself. It's really good, even though it took me forever to find it. And I believe it would be excellent if you decided to take a few features from this company. Good luck!

Wow, sounds pretty cool. Could it be connected with security systems?

Alexa, Google, everything are becoming really great home security must have pieces. It brings me some comfort knowing home security is making such advancements. I think it's a niche in which we all put a lot of trust, as we should, it keeps us protected. I know a great deal of people that don't pay as much attention to those systems as they should. When I got them installed in our new home I made sure to hire professionals https://www.vivint.com/resources/article/texas-home-security-and-automation-guide to take care of the issue, because I just couldn't forgive myself if I were to make a mistake while installing them myself, plus they provided a great deal of expertise that I wouldn't have even thought about.
