So I scheduled my launch on Product Hunt. Now what?
Hey Indie Hackers,
This is my first go-round with Product Hunt (and my second product). I've scheduled my launch of my app on Product Hunt... But now what?
I read this recently featured IH article. https://www.indiehackers.com/post/from-zero-to-launching-on-product-hunt-in-4-weeks-my-strategy-and-results-3304edaf09
In it she says that she knew everyone who upvoted her. I have no following on Twitter and I don't think my LinkedIn followers are going to create a PH account to up vote me.
So how does this work? How do I get my app noticed on Product Hunt? Is there a set of steps that I have to follow, or just cross my fingers and pray?

In my opinion, it really doesn't matter. If it does great, then awesome. If not you still continue. At least you'll get the SEO benefits.
In the beginning your main goal should be building an audience. Things like paywalls or other types of friction ruin that. Build your audience.
Talking to people, starting a discussion and asking for friend & family to upvote.
Have a small initial launch somewhere from which people can get you some boost!
Build a community willing of to support you that day mate!
You should start with engaging with the community + also talking & connecting to different founders, marketers or anyone in general who are on PH. It's essential that you build a community!
This is a cool tip. Are you implying you network with people you engage with on PH on alternate platforms like LinkedIn?
Yes ofcourse! I connect with most of them on Linkedin or X
I think this is a first good step - reaching out and building a community of followers. But what do I know, I'm first-time PH-launching too! Good luck!
