Working as an Indie hacker, as you know, is tough going. It's hard work, often filled with failure and struggle, and you have to deal with it all alone. While the people around you want to support you as much as they can, unless they are entrepreneurs, they just can't relate.
You can't blame them. You also can't blame yourself for feeling down sometimes. I had a rough day today. Rough enough to rethink everything and wonder whether I should keep going.
I recently joined a couple of interesting Telegram groups centered around health. I was shocked as to how fast they had an influence on me, holding me accountable and helping me improve.
Fellow sufferers, would you join me in a group on Telegram? Let's use it to work through our problems, share in our misery, link to interesting articles or just be there to listen.
Yeah? Reach out, we'll talk
In fact, in order to stop considering the day bad, you need to be aware of more serious problems.
Not for nothing did Steve Jobs talk about "Memento Mori".
But it's one thing when you understand it, and another when you come to the realization.
For me, the series of bad days stopped after I lost 6 teeth at once due to an accident. At the moment I thought that my jaw was broken until the moment of medical examination.
Therefore, after I got out of this, I still don't consider any day bad or hard, as I have something to compare it with. I think this realization that there are things much scarier - helps to love your current life :)
Yes, one thing is to make sure you monitor your words.
Do not say, "I had a bad day"
When you say that, you are internalizing it.
Every thought you think and every word you say has a vibration and chemical reaction in your body.
When you speak negativity to yourself, you are asking the universe to make sure you continue having the same negative experience over and over again.
Instead tell yourself "This day did not go as planned, but I am learning and improving"
The two most powerful words in the universe are I AM.
When you say I AM followed by a phrase, you are commanding the universe to make it happen.
And it must happen.
Why?
The universe is governed by laws.
The laws cannot be broken.
So if you speak positivity, positivity must come.

oh man, that's good. completely missed i made the reference. haha
I run a community for indie makers and solopreneurs and the feedback I often get from the members is how helpful it is to be surrounded by like minded people.
hah, yeah, i know there are communities like these, and i just might have to join one. i was looking at telegram as it is easy, instant and quick way to reach out to people. but yeah, it's obviously helpful to be surrounded by like minded people
Everyone is different, but, having been through successes and downfalls, the best way to cope is starting a diary. Just 5 minutes at the end of the day, that summarize what you did that made you feel good (time well invested) and what you did that makes you feel drained (time poorly allocated). The rest is simple: as you observe patterns, prioritize things with high returns and avoid/delegate other activities.
actually, this got me thinking. i never understood the point of a diary. but the way you put it, i could see a purpose to it...
I found recently that for me a run of 30+ minutes followed by a cold shower is one of the best mental health and mood boosts for me personally.
