Instagram provides a single link back to an account holders home page. LinkTr.ee, Bio.fm provide freemium SMA (Social Media Aggregation) landing pages. Other alternative involve subscription payment pages that don't handle SMA but cut to the chase and sign paying users up (sometimes this link is on the SMA).
These pages are not branded, responsive but not really mobile, and often quite ugly (look at any linktr.ee or bio.fm as examples but really all I have seen). And they require registration and a lot of setup.
My idea is to provide a product that can take a users IG account and build a PWA (Progressive Web App) that works as a mobile branded launchable app but also works as a desktop landing page. While IG is used to get post comments and images/carousels/videos, it also grabs comments and embedded hash tags, links and other social media references (twitter, addresses for online/offline maps, phone numbers for one click dialing and of course every other of the major SM sites in use). The output uses the account holders selection of mobile launch icon and background images and builds a simple slide deck, smart buttons (buttons using SM logos which open up deep links into other SM points the user has) or even text links similar to Linktr.ee.
And it does this just by the user logging into their IG account (which verifies ownership but does not collect login data or need a signup process) and clicking a single build button in a free chrome extension that builds the app/landing page.
Takes maybe as much as 2 minutes and as fast as a couple seconds. The app itself is distributed via a simple URL which can be placed in any page (including IG) but also by text/email.
No ads for now but I won't discount that possibility for the future. One thing missing is no analytics even at the highest tier AND it requires getting a Chrome extension and building on desktop. Updates are automatically delivered and recipient approved.
Looking for best way to market this. It is freemium where subscriptions are based on extended features and number of posts used. This app is only 3 layers deep, has no drop down lists (mainly smart buttons, images, slide show/swipeable deck, twitter feed).
Ideas?
Are you willing to pay money? I am sure google ad words or something similar could help. If you are not willing to pay you could always engage people one on one via social media. If I were you I would probably only do online marketing. I would look at what the average cost per customer is and look at what you are charging. For example lets say you paid $100 and go two customers from it. If you charge $120 per year (I don't know what you are charging) then it would pay for itself very fast.
Best of luck. I am sure you already knew this, but it is all I have. Haha.
I am really trying to amass a large viral volume of users. Certainly end users who may need a branded app for an event like a birthday party, wedding or graduation. But also bloggers, creators, artists, models, musicians, product dealers etc etc. It is a freemium model so I really think (and most certainly could be wrong) that the way to grow is organic (so I can keep the price as low as possible). I have not released the product yet but I plan on free (no signup), $1,$5,$15 subscriptions (no signup but I do collect an email from the stripe subscription transaction just mainly for my own product notifications and not to generate list income). Free may have ads but not sure on that yet.
I think, especially with Instagram and TikTok, I will get quite a bit of exposure when end users take the links my users provide to download their generated SMA apps and landing pages. But other than that (and maybe/hopefully that is enough) it will take off. And maybe I am being naive?
When an end user downloads a generated PWA, I will get a one shot at exposing them to the fact that they too can generate a SMA PWA from their IG account WITHOUT spamming them in the app itself. That could provide sufficient exposure.
BTW: sites like patreon.com and fansonly.com both have already helped identify tens of thousands of social media creators that could enhance their own subscription base by generating a mobile app like mine WITHOUT leaving patreon and fansonly (which are more about subscriptions and payment handling. My Guess is there are hundreds of thousands of potential existing customers I can reach and probably as many that are not being served at all or know my technology is even possible or as easy as a single click. I am hoping that AND getting it in front of people is the key. Would be nice to have an Ellen or Dwayne Johnson endorsement!
