I'm building treespree.io (launchrock) and you can follow along with my mockups at https://mocks.treespree.io.
TreeSpree will allow you to form teams and purchase trees to be planted in a handful of different reforestation projects around the world.
I'm looking for any #feedback or criticism you might have. Thanks!
Interesting. So is the idea that someone signs up and creates a team and then invites their friends to buy trees with them? Or do members of the team buy trees individually?
You might be interested in the Impact Makers group I setup. It's a community of 450 tech workers who want to help fix the climate. https://techimpactmakers.com
For the purposes of my first iteration, my plan is that users invite friends to their team, but purchases are made individually.
The team is a function of momentum and healthy competition. Team performance is an aggregate of all its members' purchases.
I want the social aspect to allow for virality. My goal is to not only make the barrier to entry for planting trees as low as possible, but to also expose more people to the idea of reforestation than would otherwise stumble across it.
Thanks very much for the link. I will check it out!
Cool. We've been thinking about how we can use social accountability to increase action on climate breakdown projects so I'll be interested to see how you get on :)
Interesting. Through some initial discussions on reddit, I'm also planning on building the platform as a whitelabel solution you could use for any cause - and open sourcing it - and then configuring my instance to be about trees.
The idea being that whatever viral / social / team aspects I build into it would be worthwhile to other innovators and activists.
