I recently added the ability to sign in with Google to noorahq.com - how many of you have added support for "social" sign-ins, and how do the percentages stack up? Do people prefer to use their existing social accounts or create a username/password for your app specifically?
We are actually working on it this week - it's going to be big time for us
I'd prefer to have my own users. I was working with a product that accompanied content creators and when our products started overlapping with the big players, there was a fear of cutting our API access. We were dealing with 3 social platforms (FB, YouTube, Twitch).
To me, Google isn't as risky because I'd just use my corporate account.
Who is your target user?
We have two target users - the initial workspace admin (the person at the company who wants to collect user feedback) and then the end users of that company. Ideally, we'll soon also offer the ability for companies to utilise their existing user logins to make it really simple to gather user feedback.
With that, social platforms like Facebook don't really make too much sense to me.
Auth0, Google, Outlook / MS, and other corporate auth mechanisms seem like a better fit, and you can have your own users as well. Keep us all posted on what you choose and why.
