SocialJuice did over $141.000 in revenue in the first couple of months on AppSumo.

Launching on AppSumo made sense for SocialJuice. When AppSumo approached me, the product was still pretty rough, and nobody had every heard about it.
The real thing AppSumo brings to the table is not the revenue (as they take the biggest part from it, I'm taking 25% home), It is the exposure.

An average AppSumo Select campaign brings in about 20M brand impressions, as they do actively market the product as well as pitch it to their existing audience of loyal, helpful people.

Even if it was the best product in the world, its not worth that much if no body knows about it, thats where they brought in the initial heavy lifting.
I'm really thankful for the community and the AppSumo team and would highly recommend working with them if your product is in early stage.

Of course, running a video service is not cheap and selling life time deals does not make sense in the long run. The biggest thing in essence is starting out with a large user base that actually cares about the product, I do not need to come up with new feature, I can prioritise them based on demand. It's really a Saas dream come true.

As the product went through a big transition since the initial contact and what it is today, it now makes a lot of sense to subscribe as a monthly customer, but it did also make a lot of sense for people using the rough version in the beginning and providing feedback to be rewarded with a LTD.
