Soft-launching a new project today, looking for growth-hacking advice

Save and review your favorite recipes | Recidex

I built a simple website that aggregates recipes from any food blog on the internet (well, it currently works with 70 blogs). If you found a recipe you want to cook, paste the link into Recidex, and Recidex will scrape the ingredients and turn it into a grocery list for you. You can also bookmark recipes to save for future use.

I just soft-launched it by posting on a few subreddits, which has already sent a few hundred visits. Any advice on how I might get the next 10x round of traffic to this site?

Try to get some of the 70 blogs on Board to promote you and get some backlinks. Also their social following.

Which social channels work in the food niche?

Consider Pinterest for driving consistent high traffic over time (we've got great results from Pinterest for a brand new Blog in the DIY niche)

Ah yeah, I definitely need to start reaching out to the blogs and getting their support.

How would you recommend using Pinterest to drive traffic? I'm admittedly weak in social media, and especially so w.r.t. Pinterest.

      Thanks for your help!

Actually we just ticked off some boxes from the top "how to get followers on Pinterest" articles.

We posted a few unique Images from our new Blog, reposted great content from a similar topic, opened and filled ~7 own boards and requested access to a few group boards after we gained initial followers.

After about two weeks our content started to trickle traffic from 5-10 visitors / day then after 4 weeks kicking off to 400 visitors / day.

Whoa, okay interesting! I'll look into this! I wonder if I could set it up so that each time a new recipe is used, it automatically posts that recipe to Pinterest.

Sure, or just try it manually for 3-4 weeks, and aggregate some best-of-lists, use canva to build some reciepes in one long image.

Maybe imagine what your customers are looking for on pinterest and what keywords / content you should be Providing.

My guess is, people who want to store lot of reciepes are looking for practical stuff like "quick and healthy reciepes", etc. not the one in a lifetime search for wedding cake ;-)

Makes a ton of sense - thanks again for your suggestions! I'll report back once I've given this a try.
