Solana suffered its second outage in a month, sending price plunging

Not sure how many people are following whats going on with SOL but it's trying to position itself as a ETH competitor and it has just as many issues as ETH...

No joke, SOL has halted the production of blocks ATLEAST 4 or 5 times already in the past half a year. This is completely unacceptable. The reason it went down it says was due to 4 or 5 large NFT drops that all happened at the same time. How can I believe SOL that the assets are safe when they can't even keep their chain online?

The devs are online -- but the chain isn't..

It's ok, I made the mistake of thinking this project was legit too. We're all clowns when it comes to crypto, you gotta get burnt at least once. One of these days I'm going to take speculating on a clearly fraudulent market and will instead put my cash into the only working blockchain out there. BTC.

The whole Terra fiasco has made me understand you bitcoin maxis a bit better. Something very attractive about the simplicity of bitcoin.

First USDT/Terra, now Solana. I hope this doesn't create a permanent distrust in the crypto community.

perhaps people should permanently distrust the crypto space? ever since alt-coins have been created they've shown to be nothing but useless speculation and a distraction

I think we've survived worse. Looking back at the old times of crypto, a few hour-long outages don't seem that bad.

I am not worried one bit. I am convinced this space will survive nearly everything at this point.

Solana is just going to keep scaring people away from cryptocurrencies at this rate. It's their 8th outage already. It means nothing to be a "top 10 crypto" anymore.

Cryptocurrency was always just suppose to be money. This idea that it's going to have apps and whatnot is half-baked.

solana is an example of a project that works in impractical conditions, but breaks when used in the real world

So is their use case impossible?
