Sold 10,000+ licenses and passed $275k in sales on Themeforest

I checked my Themeforest profile page yesterday morning and saw my sales number stayed right at 10,000. What a milestone.

I published my first template on Themeforest in August 2013. It was a good start and wish I published more templates on 2013-2015 which was the best years to be part of Themeforest. I published a few documentation and job listing templates in 2016 and got a decent result. But the real growth came after releasing TheSaaS templates in 2017 which was a huge success during 2017 and 2018.

That success made me think about developing a landing page builder for App and SaaS products based on the same concept of TheSaaS; block-by-block page builder. I procrastinate long enough but eventually, I came up with a great name/domain (Pageam.com) and almost finished with the first version of the app.

Let me know if you have any questions about being an author on Themeforest.

NIce work man! I love ThemeForest! Most of my products were from a template on that site.

    Congrats on the milestone! :)

Is creating templates a side thing for you or a main source of income?

Thanks. It was a main source of income for me during 2017 and 2018 and even early 2019, but not anymore.

Interesting! Did you plan it that way or are there a lot of ups and downs in the theme business?

Themeforest might not be a good place to publish premium themes anymore. There's too much competition in terms of theme quality and setting prices. Also, it seems that Envato has shifted its focus toward Elements which caused huge drop in sales in Themeforest marketplace. So with these problems I decided to work on other products outside of Themeforest.

Gotcha! I hope that works out well for you, I look forward to hearing more about your products :)

Thanks. I hope so. Let's see how it goes.
