Solo Dev Journey: Launching a fast AI Image Generator (Next.js + Cloudflare) to compete with the giants

I'm a solo developer, and today I'm officially launching Nano Banana Pro.
It's an AI image generation SaaS built to solve the frustrations I had with existing tools like Midjourney: slow speeds, confusing Discord interfaces, and lack of character consistency.
Here is a breakdown of my launch, my stack, and my strategy.
### 🤔 The "Why"
I create a lot of content. I needed consistent characters for storyboards and blog posts.
* Midjourney is great but managing subscriptions in Discord is a pain, and character consistency is hit-or-miss.
* DALL-E is easy but lacks granular control over aspect ratios and style.
I saw an opening for a "Pro" web-based tool that sits right in the middle: Faster, Web-first, and Consistent.
### 🛠️ The "How" (Keeping Costs Low)
As a bootstrapper, burn rate is the enemy. I chose a stack that costs almost $0 when idle but scales infinitely:
* Cloudflare Workers & Pages: For hosting and backend logic. Super cheap and fast.
* Cloudflare D1 & KV: For database and temporary storage.
* Stripe: For handling subscriptions and credit packs.
* Gemini 3 Pro (Preview): This is the secret sauce. It's allowing me to generate 4K images in 3-10 seconds (15% faster than the market average).
### 💰 The Business Model
I'm experimenting with a hybrid model to cater to casual users and power users:
1. Subscription: Monthly MRR focus ($15/mo starter).
2. Credit Packs: For users who hate subscriptions (Pay-as-you-go).
