While I mostly enjoy being solo dev/founder, it can get lonely sometimes, as well as being easy to get distracted or off on a tangent.
Sometimes I think it would be useful to have somebody watching "over my shoulder" that I could talk to while coding - bounce ideas off, explain what I'm doing to help me understand it and be clear, catch stupid mistakes, etc.
Anybody know if there's a service or anything out there where I can find people that would be interested in being a pair for an hour or so every once and a while?
I'd also be interested in being the other person as well - kinda like watching people code on Twitch, but they can hear you when you yell about the missing semi-colon.
Is it just me, or would anybody else find value in this?
Ok, not just solo devs! Anybody! Have you ever pair programmed?
I was thinking about no-code tools in relation to pairing.
The promise of no-code is that a non- or semi-technical founder can build and run an app/business. But I see a lot of founders contract out the development of the app.
Have built a few, a reasonably complex no-code app is going to be inscrutable to the founder unless they built it - so where’s the benefit of no-code?
Made me think that perhaps the best way for no-code contract app building would be that the founder does the work, with the contractor pairing, and walking them through the process on a remote screen sharing session. That way the founder knows the ins and outs of the app, learns the platform, and can maintain and continue to develop further features.
What do y’all think?
