Solo. Non-technical. Bootstrapped. Female Founder.
A lot of people ask me: how does it feel to be a solo, non-technical, bootstrapped female founder?
To be honest- it feels like jumping into the deep end of the pool without knowing how to swim, and then teaching yourself along the way.
When I started Bearconnect.io, I made a few conscious choices:
No co-founder.
No VC funding.
Stay small, lean, and independent.
Sounds bold. In reality? It’s been the hardest year of my life.
I come from a sales background, not tech. Yet, I was building a complex SaaS product in the LinkedIn automation space. That meant two parallel battles:
Finding the right tech team to actually bring the product to life.
Ensuring we built Bearconnect with safety at its core (because automation and LinkedIn are a tricky mix).
There were so many moments when I thought of quitting. Days when the product broke. Weeks when progress felt painfully slow. Nights when I doubted myself for even starting.
But here’s the thing: every single time a customer said- “This saved me hours” - it felt worth it.
Bootstrapping Bearconnect has taught me:
Resilience is a muscle you build, not a trait you’re born with.
Thick skin isn’t optional-it’s survival.
And when there’s no ray of light, sometimes you have to become that light for yourself.
Would I trade this past year for anything else?
Never.
Because despite the struggles, I get to build Bearconnect on my own terms- and that’s priceless.
