Solopreneurs vs. Choice Overload, Decision Fatigue, FOBO, Paradox of Choice. Here's what I'm doing about it.

The real bottleneck of modern life isn't a lack of tools. Life's never been more convenient. No need to drive yourself or even write code. Yet cognitively, we've never been more overwhelmed. Choice overload has never been worse. Too many options, too much to choose from, all accumulating into decision fatigue.

Of everyone caught in this, solopreneurs struggle the most. Entrepreneurs constantly face new high-stakes situations, and each one has numerous possibilities to choose from. But delaying a decision directly translates to real loss, so deliberation can't drag on either. And solopreneurs in particular handle every decision themselves. Product, marketing, pricing, design, ops, hiring. When you're making this many varied calls under limited time, information, and resources, anxiety and overwhelm are inevitable. There's no time to deeply research every decision. And for some calls, locking it in alone without any collective validation feels uneasy. But no team to validate with.

That's why I started TRIM. To trim away everything but your choice by becoming your decision team. Bring decisions you're stuck on, get fast input from other founders, and close them before they get heavy. It's the closest thing to having a team.

How TRIM works

There are two mechanisms you can use to trim decisions you're stuck on.

Roundtable — public decision feed

No need to research and live-test every option yourself; the crowd already has. Your decision lands on the Roundtable where other founders vote on your options instead of replying with text. Voting strips out the long threads, the cluttered opinions, the argumentative noise, and the silence of unanswered posts. It lowers the bar to post: just lay out your options and let the crowd weigh in.

And if you don't even know what to choose from, post the question on its own. The crowd surfaces a top 3 shortlist via suggestions and votes, so you skip the research and pick from a finite, crowd-vetted set.

For sharper signal, you can set voter attributes (experience level, stage, role, domain, or whatever lens matters). We then visualize the vote broken down by those attributes plus 5 standard demographics (age, occupation, nationality, residence, gender), so you can see how the verdict shifts across segments and weight signal from the founders whose perspective matters most to you.

Private Decisions

Tangled thoughts get one space to land in. Private Decisions is your space to track and manage every call you face — light or heavy, work or personal.

When a decision is vague or overwhelming, optional tools make it workable:

  • Decision chunking — breaks big complex decisions into the smaller, prior decisions you need to make
  • Time budget — blocks overthinking by matching deliberation to the decision's stakes
  • Decision framing — provides clear framing questions for vague stuck calls
  • "Why am I stuck?" — diagnoses the cause when nothing fits

You'll trim them at the right time, with the right amount of effort, and actually get them done.
