Mike was sick of the repetition involved with building web apps.

I had limited programming knowledge and never felt confident working with databases and backend development.

    100%. But I would say unless the market is crowded go speak to potential customers first.

    I would love to know how many side projects get started without ever speaking to anyone.

    For my first project I just started coding and never spoke to anyone. I wasted a lot of time on that. It solves a big problem for a lot of companies but I have no feasible go to market strategy at the moment.

    My current project is an issue I had from the previous project. So I spoke to a few potential customers to confirm that it was a real problem.

    I will also be dogfooding the project so will learn a ton from doing that.

      Such a hard road doing it alone. You ever thought of looking for a co-founder ?

    This is a great starting point, but emphasis must be applied to potential customers.
