Solving a huge structural problem as an Indie Hacker. Is it possible?

Just a few months ago, I was a recent graduate sitting in an office that required me to copy and paste numbers for 9 hours a day.

Realizing clearly wasn't for me, I started looking into my options and realized that given my circumstances and experience, I have three options:

  • Try to find another job in the current market
  • Buy a franchise (Minimum $50K invested)
  • Start a company from scratch (Uncertain and can take a long time)

Initially, I didn’t want any of these options, I was looking for something meaningful to do on my own time that is affordable, and can help me make a sustainable living.

My co-founder and I decided to solve this problem ourselves by providing an alternate form of employment by digitizing the concept of franchising so anyone can start and operate a business as easily as signing up to be an Uber driver.

Open to ideas:

Do you think it's possible to take on the way employment currently works as an indiehacker?

How would you approach solving such a large structural problem?

    On your idea:
It sounds actually like a great opportunity, I totally imagine a marketplace of franchises where I could easily see the performance of a brand, cost to franchise, reviews, and get started with one click!

Regarding the indie aspect, it's very much possible for you to make a dent. It will take a bit more time if the team is small, but you still can do it! Best of lucks!

    Quick feedback on the website:

    • A bit crowded, it took me time to realize where I should be looking, and still didn't understand the value prop
    • Try to pick slightly more differentiated icons :)

      Thanks for the feedback!
I'll adjust the website to make the value proposition clearer

From the landing page, it's not clear exactly what you're offering.
What are the examples of businesses?
What is the success rate? how do you know they businesses will work?
Normally you have a successful business and then you franchise it, you don't normally start a franchise before you have a successful business.

      Thanks for the feedback!

I updated the landing page to better reflect what we're doing. Let me know what you think..

We're currently in discussion with the right companies.

We're looking to change the way people approach franchising, instead of a successful business looking to franchise, user generated businesses that are built as micro-franchises .
