Solving the "Proof of Income" problem for Freelancers & Digital Nomads

As a student and freelancer, I recently ran into a wall when applying for a visa. They asked for "3 months of payslips."

I tried explaining that I’m a freelancer and I get paid via Upwork/Direct Transfer, but bureaucratic systems (banks, landlords, embassies) rarely understand gig economy income. They want a standard, corporate-looking Payslip.

So, I built a tool to generate them legitimately.

Introducing the Payslip Generator: https://smoothledger.com/payslip-generator

It allows self-employed folks to formalize their income.

  • Calculates the math: You enter Gross Pay, it helps itemize deductions (Tax, Insurance).

  • YTD Tracking: You can manually input Year-To-Date figures to show income stability.

  • Instant PDF: Generates a compliant-looking document for rental applications or visas.

It’s completely free and, like the rest of the suite, requires no signup.

If you’re a nomad or freelancer, how do you usually handle "Proof of Income" requests?
