Some feedback on a side project? Quiet Reader for Mac
Hi!
My name is Navid. I was previously the founder at Placeit but took some time off to recharge.
As a way of getting my feet wet again, I worked with some friends on a little mac app to help you read in peace on your Mac.
It's called Quiet Reader.
I mainly made the app for myself. I'd find myself skimming important emails or not reading with enough intent... I felt like my reading comprehension was getting worst.
This app does 2 things well
- You can highlight ANY text from any app on your Mac and then press the key combo to just focus on that text to read.
This was my main use case.
- You can also try it on any article in Chrome or Safari to take away all the ads

Ye that's a great point re the text in the promo video... that wasn't a good idea.

Agreed! I need to see the Quiet Reader used in more apps and browsers before signing up to download.

I love the design of the website and like the idea of distraction-free reading. I currently use Pocket to read distraction-free and I like that it is a web app so I can pick it up from anywhere. My own personal preference would be for something like this to be a web app. My 2 cents :)

I love the idea, I get side tracked all the time when reading. You know what will be cool? If you could prevent me from clicking links or maybe queue them up for later
