Day 26 of 365 of my Daily Blogging challenge, first published on my blog
As I start writing this blog post today, I don’t want to work on it, nor do I want to work on Requeme. It has been hard to get up and get started.
However, as I keep on writing, I noticed that the pain I felt of not wanting to start slowly fades away.
Keep this in mind in the harder times.
The hardest part to motivation is getting started.
This is why setting a daily minimum works. Because if you know that you can just do something for 30 seconds then stop, there are good chances that you get started. And if you get started, you probably will keep going a little longer.
Find a good reason to continue. If there is none, stop it. It would be best if you prioritize yourself first. Always find a reason to become driven, even though you're against all the odds. You can do this; stay positive.
Thanks for the kind words !
I don't feel like finding a good reason has ever been useful to me. From my experience, it is better that I just slow down a bit, do to my minimum, then get back on the horse once I feel more like it.
But that's just my way of doing things, and I guess it will be different for everyone
Going myself through such experience helps me understand what you refer to.
In these times I find nothing better than just forget about everything pushing hard and get some real rest. Focus on something else, let your brain figure out all the hard things at autopilot regime.
Indeed, getting some rest is key here.
I like to keep the habits rolling though, through a minimum amount, to not have to go through the getting started barrier again. Or at least keep it as low as I can.
I started some similar habits with 1-minute practices a few years ago, and did that for a few years. While this specific practice is gone, I now notice that I am much more likely to continue for a challenge like this daily one where I have to write for 15-30 minutes daily.
1 minute a day may not seem like much, but the benefits you get from the consistency you develop are invaluable
