Hi Indihackers,
I want to share some of the hiring lessons I learned from my bootstrapped/unfunded/self-funded Startups.
There is hardly any good strategy for adding talent when you don’t have money or you have quite a tight budget. You have to pay the salary as per industry standards, if you pay less or quite less it will not work.
You should always ask for references even if the person you’re talking to isn’t a fit. Don't be shy In asking, and most of the time it works.
Always be in hiring mode. Keep following good talents at a regular interval of time. Make a database of all talents which you find were really good but not joined you. If your product ship and start making a good buzz, these guys can show interest in joining you.
Avoid totally money-minded folks. You should hire people that show some wiliness to not take a salary when you don’t have money. If someone is only working for money with you, he is not right fir for your Startups. Avoid people who are too much concerned about their titles.
Please share what lessons you learned in hiring.
