There seems to be a good amount of developers that are not big fan of Linkedin. In fact, there are some that have disdain for it. There's several reasons why:
With these reasons, there is a significant amount of developers that the talent pool is missing. And what these developers want is to skip the bull s***t and just post their resume for interested employers to see. But more importantly, they want to minimize the job prospecting effort as much as possible. So, finding a job is as simple as posting one's resume.
My buddy and I are those developers. Our past experiences with LinkedIn (and other social media platforms for professional) has lead us to creating our own job board where employers are the ones that do all the effort in the job hunting process. That way developers can have more time doing what they do best: coding awesome stuff.
However, employers are customers too. They are looking for an effective platform which is going to give them more bang for their capital per say. The job board we created is similar to sites like remoteok.com or web3.career where they have a specific niche in a job market. We are going to provide this by offering more premium services for a cheaper rate compared to those other sites.
In combination with the job board, developer will create their resumes and allows the web app to custom generate a resume that best matches the job descriptions from the job board.
Our team is half way there. The job board is complete and is out in the wild right now. The resume site is still in the works and were expecting that to be ready sometime next month or two.
Thanks for reading this. This is my first foray into entrepreneurship so it was difficult to write to his post in marketable way or attention grabbing way :)
This is great! Your app feels part of this "new social media" wave, such as sites/apps like BeReal. I'd love to see what you've built!
I'm also creating a social platform that helps solve the social isolation issue and makes it easier to make genuine connections outside of the "fake" social platforms like Facebook/LinkedIn.
