Hey everyone. I'm in a bit of a weird dilemma right now. Somebody put up the product that I've been working on for months on ProductHunt. But it wasn't ready for the publication on ProductHunt just yet. I was waiting to make the product a little more solid and less buggy, but all of the sudden, we were up on ProductHunt without any notice.
I only noticed it is on ProductHunt because I got the mail escalated invocations of AWS Lambda functions.
I love that someone thought that this product was worthy of ProductHunt, but I still think it would have been better to launch a little later with solid pitch and product. If I decide to formally launch the product on ProductHunt later, does that pose any conflict?
From Product Hunt's launch guidelines (see under Hunting Process):
So you can apparently still launch yourself but it's better to do it soon. Does the existing entry have any upvotes?
Yeah, at the time you wrote the comment, it had over 80 upvotes with 17 comments. I'll take a look at what can be done in future. Maybe I'll launch the product as version 1.0 later.
Holy hunt, you're onto something! 😀
