I spent the last few weeks setting up a landing page for my first indie project readingbuggies.com, and someone actually put their email in.
First of all, I'm terrified someone might actually want to give me money for my idea. But it also makes me feel like maybe its not such a terrible idea if a random person would put their email on my site.
So next steps (if they keep going):
Am I missing anything?
Yo Andy!!! Long time no see.
This is actually a great idea, I love the concept. However it took me a little bit to understand how it worked, exactly. I didn’t get that it was a book swap at first, until I read the FAQs. Perhaps your call to action could place more emphasis on the swapping aspect? To me, swapping instead of buying has a much stronger draw to use a service like this.
Thanks for that Gil! I’m gonna work that in!
Congrats! Your first steps seem good ones, what's gonna be your sale strategy? Also you have a typo on your landing page " you'll recieve an email" => receive.
Forgot to say my sales strategy. So I’m my prelaunch phase, I plan to chat with potential customers directly to try to validate the idea and nail down messaging and pricing.
Eventually with the range I’m guessing on the price-point it’ll probably need to be self-service.
To gain customers I’m thinking I’ll post some blogs / articles for parents trying to help get their kids to read more.
Who knows maybe I will go to more genres in the future not just kids!
Oh what a goof! Thanks for letting me know. I’ll get it fixed!
