Spam emails are annoying as hell
Spam emails are annoying as hell. I signup for a website, or rewards program ONE TIME, and then get random BS emails from them every day and end up with a super cluttered inbox.
I think it would be really cool to create a service that allowed the creation of temporary emails to use for certain purposes that prevent your personal inbox from getting filled with spam. This means an email for shopping (Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.), for food (Kroger, Giant Eagle, Publix, etc.), and online services (eBay, blogs, etc.).
You can decide what to group the emails by, but it will allow you to separate emails by a different inbox and stop a bunch of random spam from entering your normal emails. Think PRIVACY (https://privacy.com) but for emails.
Example:
You go to Target and want to signup for their rewards program. You have set up an email (jacks-shopping@email.com) with this potential service, and now any emails that target sends will go to jacks-shopping@email.com instead of whatever your personal email is.
I would appreciate any feedback on this idea. Looking to build something in my spare time, but want to make sure it is something people would use. I'd appreciate any kind of sharing of this link too for max visibility:)
I like this idea, I have experienced this pain before, but I find it hard to spend money on solving this problem, so far this is how I have gotten around it

Yeah totally agree. After more thought and research I've found other people trying to tackle this problem as well, but even those big players that can offer the solution for free, make that market a little more difficult. Thanks for the feedback though! @stbgz
Why can't I create a random email address with another provider (google, yahoo, etc) that I'd use for cases like these?
So I mean you totally could, but that becomes a hassle of creating a new email for each service, where you can't manage the emails coming in at all.
To further explain, imagine a website, and on the left-hand side, you have a list. In that list are different emails you have
You can click on one of those emails and it will take you to an inbox where you can see all the emails you used that account for. This means you can keep spam emails from those companies out of your main inbox, but still have them separated for you by the retailer so you can view your other emails easily.
What about the gmail feature that lets you do adrress+somefilter@gmail.com.
That is what I use if I enter my email to somewhere I think they might spam me!
I am not familiar with that filtering feature, and I can't say many others have either. But nonetheless, I think this is a type of feature that could be built out to allow for easier use with additional feature built on top of it.
Oh, I am sure many people don't know about it! Just letting you know! And this way does not stop aggressive spammers as once they have your email they can just cut off the '+filter' bit so there is merit in your idea there.
Here is a better explanation of the gmail + trick:
By simply adding a + to the end of your username (but before the "@") you can create infinite variations of your Gmail address. For example, username+junkmail@gmail.com will direct email to your main address without giving it away to spammers. You can then filter messages containing "username+junkmail" into your junk or trash folder so you never have to be bothered to delete them again.
