Looking for feedback. This is the first time I'm launching even a landing page. here it is https://skillsips.com
Congrats on launching your first landing page. That first one out the door is a real milestone. Nice work.
Quick first impression: the product idea is understandable, but the hero could name the buyer pain more directly.
Right now I have to infer who it is for and what outcome I get. Something like "Build one career skill in 10 minutes a day" would make the promise sharper than a broader microlearning phrase.
I'd also try to get two things into the first screen: who the target learner is, and what an actual lesson path looks like. For example: "For early-career professionals who want to improve communication, leadership, or product thinking" plus a visible sample path like "Day 1: concise writing -> Day 2: feedback -> Day 3: stakeholder updates."
That would make the page feel more concrete and easier to evaluate quickly. Happy to take a fuller pass if useful.
For a first landing page I’d just make sure the hero section answers the basics without forcing anyone to scroll. First off, who’s it for? “Busy professionals” is a start, but that’s pretty vague – you need to pinpoint which folks actually feel the pain. Then, what do they get out of it? The format is daily microlearning, but the real hook is the outcome: better communication, sharper management skills, faster career growth, that kind of thing. Next, why is it any different from random tips or just using ChatGPT? If personalization is the edge, show a concrete example of how a learning “sip” changes based on the user. Finally, what should they do next? The CTA has to match the product stage – something like “Get my first skill sip” is clearer than a generic “Sign up” if you’re still early. My quick test is: can a visitor sum up the product in one sentence after five seconds? If they can’t, tighten the hero before you mess with the rest of the page.
Congrats on getting the first landing page live, better than endlessly polishing it. My quick take on the positioning: “personalized microlearning for busy professionals” makes sense but feels a bit vague, so tighten the outcome. Right now the hero should answer things like what skill the user will improve, how long it takes, what happens after a week or two, and why it’s better than another half‑finished course. I’d go with something like “Build one practical career skill in 10 minutes a day.” Below that you can mention that the lessons are personalized daily, built for busy pros, let you make progress without long courses, and have a single clear CTA to start or see a sample lesson. Adding a quick “sip” of the actual learning experience on the page would build trust faster than just describing it. Bottom line: skip extra complexity, give a specific promise and a concrete preview.
"Personalized skill growth for busy professionals" is your H1 right now. The issue isn't the word choice — it's that "busy professionals" describes every working adult on earth.
I looked at skillsips.com — there's no named buyer role, no named skill domain, nothing in the above-fold that tells a product manager versus a developer versus a first-time manager that this was built for their specific situation. The CTA asks for early-bird commitment before a visitor has answered the question that drives the decision: "Is this for someone like me?"
A PM reads it and thinks "is this for technical skills or leadership?" A junior manager thinks "is this for ICs or people with reports?" Nobody self-selects confidently and clicks through. The fix is one headline rewrite — pick one specific buyer and one concrete skill. Something like "For early-career managers — lead with confidence in 10 minutes a day" gives exactly one type of person a reason to recognize themselves instead of passing.

Hello. Thank you for this response. This is so insightful and helpful. Apologies for noticing it so late
I had to park skillsips for some time due to low response, and prioritise another one of my projects: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/building-evoke-to-solve-my-own-frustration-simple-tools-should-be-readily-available-5166da919e
But I will be resuming it soon, and the first thing will be to address your suggestions. Thanks again
Congrats on getting your first landing page live!
The design is clean and easy to follow. My biggest suggestion would be to make the headline more outcome-focused and add a simple "How It Works" section to help visitors understand the value faster.
As you get users, adding testimonials or early feedback will also help build trust.
Solid start keep iterating and collecting feedback.
Out of curiosity, what has been your biggest challenge so far getting visitors to the page or getting visitors to convert once they're there?
Thanks for responding and for suggestions
what has been your biggest challenge so far getting visitors to the page
Finding where I can find the most likely user base which may really want such a tool
(second biggest is the message itself: I'm being too direct, which seems like an advert.)
getting visitors to convert once they're there?
I need to figure out. I'm trying to analylze and build missing analytics on the page to see what the visitors are actually doing on this page. Welcome to suggestions here
