Split Bill Management App

Hi all, I have several questions

1. How do you currently manage split bills with your friends and family? Are you using any specific apps or just doing it manually?
2. What are the struggles using the app? (skip if you don't have any)
3. Some similar apps require your friends to also download and use the app. How hard is it to ask them to use the app?
