@Harlem, @TheTechTeacher, @sircharleswatson, @shash7, @louisswiss, @jpusateri, and @bjames for getting their EPICs in!
Congratulations on the re-tweet! Checked out the article - nothing new. But the chart was crazy interesting. The rise of Notion and Loom is impressive!
For sure. It was a confirmation of some players we've all heard of, but the long tail is where the data got interesting.
I'll be keeping an eye out for similar threads over the coming months. I think it'd be awesome to do a compare on the diffs after some time has passed.
Good focus, and nice job on gaining some early traffic.
Careful focusing specifically on sub numbers, I've seen that yield drops in quality that can work against you.
Yeah you're right on. This is a worry in my mind, which I hope will be enough to counteract a potential drop in quality.
Got any thoughts on a different metric to track that'd give more signal on whether or not I'm building an engaged following?
No concrete ideas really, but traffic itself might be a good indicator, or shares could be a proxy for social engagement on some level.
Blogs can be a weird beast, sometimes peak engagement for a post doesn't happen for a while so the lag can be tough to tease out.
Nice article on the tools, I'll say that from experience with both WebEx and Skype larger organizations will sometimes get enterprise agreements with companies like Cisco or Microsoft that basically make WebEx or Skype free (or effectively free).
Thank you! Yeah that jives. It's interesting to consider what that says about the extra value add that Zoom or Slack provide. Worth giving up emoji's in exchange for free it seems :)
By end of August, I'll have proven whether my online course was a one hit wonder or a source of recurring revenue.

@bjames way to break it down for the month, exciting news with a baby due this month!
What'll be your email strategy?
I'm starting with my current list of about 150 people, I'll be going with down the line 25 at a time. I have some former coworkers who were very interested to see where this goes, and I think some blog posting and such could be work a shot too.
I'm making signups free, to capture emails from potentially interested parties, and will be putting together a free tier after I the beta has a bit of time to help me bake a few more pieces. I may just launch it on PH once I get into beta, just to see where it goes.
It's grunt work from here, but exciting nonetheless.

BREAKDOWN
Week 1: Tools week - I've got several additional tools in mind, I'm going to try to get at least two of them completed by the 8th. I'm also going to be fixing a couple of issues I've noticed with the current tools. I'll also add client side input validation, I'm only doing server side validation right now.
Week 2: Writing Week: Troubleshooting flow-chart and/or checklist, a couple of articles for the notes section
Week 3: Do some basic SEO, keywords, sitemaps, etc. More tools work or writing as time allows.
Week 4: Finalize the look and feel of the website, any design changes should be minor at this point. Explore some of the paid ideas I've been kicking around.

Edit: Formatting :)
What are the tools you have in mind?
GeoIP Lookup, DNSBL Checker and a DNS Propagation checker are all on my short list. I'd also like to do a tool that checks all the resources listed on a website and looks for 400 and 500 errors.
I'm hoping to build up lots of little tools like that and eventually turn it into a paid web monitoring platform.

@Harlem for keeping this thing going!
Curious word, enrollment. One of those arguments many people don't even realize is a thing.
Might you just want to go with the one least likely to generate the impression that there is a misspelling? A look at common usage gaps in British and American English spellings would suggest that knowledge that there is an alternate spelling is far more common in British English natives than in the (far-more-likely-to-be-less-worldly) Americans.
Good looking sales numbers you have there. Nice work.
Thanks!
Yeah choosing one isn't hard, it's just reminding myself which one I chose!
(Cackle!) Which way did you go?
I've made an executive decision not to decide until i finish drafting everything.
Then I'll just 'replace all' with whatever feels right.
Probably the US spelling, because the few comments/corrections I ahve received have been from them...
What are you using for your funnels? Anything in particular you found astonishingly effective?
I use...
All of it together has been very, very effective (>10% conversion rates on a ~$2k purchase). My only challenge really is just getting more people in at the top of the funnel (hence all the podcast guesting I'm doing).
I can't find a link to your project anymore, but if you shoot one over I'll take a look and make some suggestions based on what is working for me!
