@davey for laying down an ultimatum! Which way do you want it to go?
Congrats on getting that site published! Feel good to have it out there?
If I may, there's two quick tweaks I would make:
Feel free to ignore if you disagree, just my thoughts :-).
Ooh. That's my old and busted project. (Not really busted. But too cash intensive to get off the ground.) But thanks so much for the feedback. Hope you'll do the same when I unleash my current project!
I take care of my 3 kids alone, full time, so I need to be able to work from home. I make Alexa skills/voice apps and am really good at it, the work is fun and fits my lifestyle very well. But I'm WAY far away from where I should be compensation wise for skills/experience level, and no benefits yet. I need to stay working at home and that can be hard to come by. These terms were supposed to be short term only, and I need something to change :)
I'm really glad you got a bump. Here's hoping that it's enough. But if it's not... you've options. Remote and otherwise!
π Respect π
This. All day long. THREE kids? Holy shit.
Sounds like a great idea and definitely feeling a need for some accountability.
Trying to get the main functionality of my web app in solid order by end of July. Solid order means that users can interact and add data in on a basic level. Sign up, payment and auth etc is already working.
User profile functionality is working well. Add some other filler areas for user configuration and settings (todo after launch)
I'm polishing up and adding better UI (with validation) for the main piece of the web app now. If I finish today, I hope to take some AWS gateway CORS issues that popped up and preventing the staging site for being up and running.
Cool! How has your experience with AWS api gateway been?
Using serverless for managing it. The framework is just a little too magical so it makes tinkering/ debugging a bit obtuse.
That's been the story of everything I've done with AWS. Less so with Azure.

@Aadhi on persevering on his search for founder fit!
What's your favorite kind of exercise? I live next to a lake so we swim A LOT whenever possible. I've recently added some VR exercise, ala boxing via BoxVR and Beat Saber to a morning/night routine which is starting to become a good habit. The Oculus Quest is actually helping me rip some endorphines out in the day!
I'm jealous of the lake access β I'd love to swim more if it was that accessible. I'm a big fan of road biking β I love being able to work my 7:30-4:00 job, bike, have a bit of dinner, and then start working on any side projects. It's the perfect reset to switch focus.
It's not ON a lake, it's like 300 feet down a short dirt road, but it's gorgeous ..and a great way to spend a couple hours twice a day :) Definitely working your dreams into your routine is a surefire way to make progress daily!
@Davey Me too! I have a lake view in my backyard. Now that you mentioned it, I haven't enjoyed the lake view yet this summer. I'll get on to that tomorrow.
Sunday, I was doing Cize, Shaun-T dance workout. Before I got into startups I was doing weight training, P90X & Insanity workouts. I'm too competitive and waaaaay out of shape to do those again right now. So I'm starting off slow. Need to get the blood flowing & body moving beyond my founder sedentary position.
I always wanted to try boxing, but I know I got a temper... so I can't afford to get smack LOL Maybe VR is an option for me. ;-)
IT's a totally awesome option. Reminds me of the fun of a directed P90 workout, but with boxing motions, music, and competition. Makes 30 minutes scream by.

@Harlem for shipping publishing an AWESOME web + mobile site (played around with my screen sizes). Love the artwork + copy.
OTHER NOTES
So I've decided to do one update a week for now, since honestly there isn't much else to say except "researching". I'm in the phase where I'm gathering raw data, finding I have more questions than answers, and gathering more raw data to answer my questions - rinse & repeat.
My goal is that at the end of all this research & thinking, I'll be able to go full bore on an idea with a defined path for a v0 / MVP-esque product I can launch quickly. This is pretty challenging since I'm usually a shoot from the hip-type person and it's a little torturous to not just go straight to building what I think should be built.
Nope, request DENIED! @Aadhi we'll share & grow together in this #daily-stand-up. It's okay to not have something new to shout about. It's the process and learnings that's the journey.
Check out my past #daily-stand-up comments. You will clearly see in the beginning inconsistencies but I start showing up regularly. I didn't know WTH I was doing. You'll see that I was (and still am) searching. I used @Harlem's post to help stay accountable and to check my mood swings when things don't go my way. It takes time. You'll find your way, path, purpose & opportunities.
I needed this @helengriffinjr, thanks for looking out :)
ALRIGHT. Daily updates it is!
I'm glad Helen brought your ass back down from the cliff! We need to see this part of the process. For the most part, all we see is the coding. And although that's our main gig, that's a small part of the hustle. So thank you for continuing to show up!
(Ah. And thanks for the kudos. That was my last project. I should can it until I'm ready to pick it back up!)
Np, glad to help @Aadhi!
10:00 am pst - 6:30 pm pst work on a client software project.
10:30 pm pst - 1:00 am pst work on story creator personal software project.
Looking forward to seeing more about Story Creator. Landing page will need more info before you'll waiting list sign-ups, I think.

Awe thanks bruh!
Good luck with the day job convo!
I'm currently working on getting my UI cleaned up. Spent a long time getting the coarse pieces working, now gotta make it nice for others!
01 - soft launch: Have the base application/library, documentation (both manual and API), and build tools publically accessible. Have license terms and sales flow (either contact or direct payment gateway) on the site.
02 - done: reviewed ansible wordpress product. which comes back (again) to licensing. Talked with a helpful lawyer on licenses. Likely start with the non-commercial https://polyformproject.org/licenses/ and a commercial license modeled after jira. Some research on payment processing for license subscriptions
Despite my reluctance for having any GUI... 1. Even a mock GUI is helpful for validating the end to end. 2. building a gui is helping refine the REST APIs. Which all contributes to having an actual GUI. Still, made it an optional component. Started applying redux for managing client view model.
03 - Goal today is: No license work. Helpful lawyer is on vacation. Continue refinding the REST api according to experience applying redux. Payment portal research. Compare at least 5 to understand the options.
04 - in thread
05 - Nothing to show today :-\

Awwwwww! I'm a Front user myself. And plans to expand?
Yeah, all the plans! But until I see some traction with our existing integrations I'm not going to expand :/.
late to the game today for me...nothing much except framing out some user portal html. As much as I can do tonight anyway. Better update tomorrow.
