@helengriffinjr for holding it down yesterday! Thank you!
Killing it!
Thanks for the encouragement!
You know I got you. How was your camping trip? You and the hubby got plenty R&R?
Freakin' fab! My day gig has been killing me not so softly of late. Getting off the grid was long overdue!
That's cool I'm glad you got a chance to enjoy nature. Nature enjoys me too much. Bugs treat me like an all you can eat buffet! LOL
@Harlem Want to moderate a group for the daily standup?
We're most likely going to be replacing hashtags with groups in the near future, with the primary difference being that people can be "members" of groups, and also those who subscribe to groups will get a daily email of new posts made to that group.
The daily standup is easily the most consistent tradition on IH. Would be cool to have a group for it! I think it'd also retain more people (and thus grow over time) if they were subscribed members who got emails about your posts.
So far our only other group is the Podcasters group, if you want an example of what groups look like so far.
Hell yeah! Let's do it! Love the idea of a daily email!
Okay, here's a link to the group: https://www.indiehackers.com/group/daily-stand-up. In the future when you make daily standup posts, just do it from that group page, and the posts will be added to the group!
To invite someone to the group, just share the link with them and they can sign up and join.
Groups are in the MVP phase right now, so lots of work to go here. For example, you don't really have any special powers as the group moderator at the moment, but you will eventually. You also can't change the description or the icon, but let me know if you want to and I can change it for you. Feedback welcome!
(Smiling) I have more ideas. But I'll hold the line here.
Wanted to give this a day or two before commenting...
First: Love the daily email reminder. Any chance that this will grow into a daily digest?
Second: Persnickety request. Daily Stand Up. Minus the hyphen, please. (I know. I know. I already pre-qualified the request with "persnickety".
Third: Description is perfect.
Fourth: Not a fan of the icon. We definitely need something more bad ass. I'm thinking a power fist to the sky.
Fifth: What goodies are in store? I'd really like to have a monthly sticky of % of check-ins each month, going for that coveted 80/20. I think folks seeing their scores on the board would be even more motivated to stay the course.
Yep! It's technically a daily digest now, but only has a section for the groups you're subscribed to. It'll have more section soonish, e.g. posts from people you follow, comments on individual posts you subscribe to, etc.
I actually tried hard to get this right and did some Googling first! Wikipedia and most other resources I could find said it's stand-up with a hyphen?
👍
See anything you like here, here, or here?
That sounds super cool! Added to my list of goody ideas. Still working on the very basics so goodies might take a bit.
Awesome!

Kudos:
@Aadhi have a good time with your family, and good luck grabbing a little down time for writing while you're there. Walter Isaacson has written books using in-between time like that.

Sweet video! How long did it take you to whip that up?
I'm guessing 3-4 hours...got the VO from Fiverr, then just did a few recordings of the software and used Premiere Rush to edit it all together.
Wow this is both intimidating and challenging in a good way. Here it goes

Welcome to the stand up party, @suddu001! You got this!
I'm out of commission for now. Hopefully I can start back up soonish!
Epic: soft launch - have artifacts available for download; license terms ; sales flow.
Done: Moved to https://github.com/jmcardon/tsec for crypto, in particular JWT, support. Which resolved a few issues, simplified a lot of code, and revealed an issue in another library. Highly recommend tsec so far! High quality stuff.
This also required moving from scalaz to cats for one aspect. However, this ended up being much cheaper than I expected; as to be almost a non-event. Even better: the tests for startup lag and memory consumption all show improvements. Tiny, but definite. cats is also appears to have more interest in the market so win-win all round.
Today: NA
unlikely, even with only a bit left, to complete a soft launch by july. :\
Released offline support for my note-taking app Contexted.
