Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m excited to share Designvest (designvest.org) , a platform that helps solo founders and makers like us turn raw ideas into professional visual assets. Whether you’re pitching to investors, aligning with project partners, or refining your brand, Designvest streamlines the design process to make your vision shine.
But here’s the kicker—I need your feedback to make this the best it can be.
🎥 The Onboarding Process
Imagine this: You upload your business idea, and Designvest guides you step by step to create logos, visuals, and presentations that impress stakeholders and attract investors. It’s designed to make even non-designers look like pros. (Check out my video explaining the process! - https://youtube.com/shorts/eHgkHDw1bPI?si=Qg4tlZ2Ux-PqK2q0)
👨‍💻 Lessons Learned Building Designvest
Here’s what I’ve learned during this journey:
Time Investment vs. Outcome
I’ve spent 2-3 months building this sporadically. Even if this doesn’t succeed as a product, it will still serve as a lead magnet for my design business. Nothing goes to waste when you’re building!
Believe in Your Idea
If you have faith in your project, don’t get discouraged. Even if it doesn’t scale, you can exit with a project price and learn tons along the way.
No-Code vs. Custom Builds
I struggled with no-code tools—great for testing but limiting for scalability. While our website runs on Webflow, the real power lies in the backend: PostgreSQL, NestJS, Angular, Docker. For quick marketing, no-code works, but for robust solutions, custom builds are the way to go.
