Hi everyone,
In the spirit of building in public:
I just published Start A Meetup: a step-by-step guide to help you organize your own events.
Since 2018, I have been organizing quarterly events for indie hackers at Indie London with practical and visionary talks from experienced speakers, hosting up to a 100 inspired attendees at top locations in London.
The objective of startameetup.com is to help you start your very own meetup group. You will learn what are the essentials of organizing an event such as a tech meet-up, a book club, a workshop, a dinner or an unconference.
So far, the table of contents is:
✅ Getting started
✅ — Why start a meetup
✅ — Pick a format
☑️ Before the event
☑️ — Find a venue
☑️ — Find speakers
☑️ — Promote the event
☑️ — Publish the event
☑️ On the day
☑️ After the event
☑️ — Getting feedback
☑️ — Spread the word
☑️ — Build a community
As I am now in the process of writing, I am looking for as much feedback as possible.
Let me know what you think I should cover and if you have any specific questions about organizing an event:
Is there any part of the content I should dive more into?
If you already thought about organizing an event, what is stopping you today?
Thanks!
Ghyslain
