Started a weekly update on YouTube to document my startup journey

Hi all, this is something I've been thinking about doing for a while. It's kind of scary at this point, because this is literally ground zero where the product isn't even built, I have no idea if this is going to be completely ignored, take off, or be somewhere in the middle.

But I decided I'd find value in having a vlog where I just describe the process along the way to building some kind of self-sustainable business.

Some of it's going to be really dumb, probably really obvious stuff that more experienced entrepreneurs know too well by now. Other times I'll probably be really assertive when spouting out an opinion or decision, only to go back on it later. But it's all part of the process, to document actual emotions as well as progress with the business. I've decided to put this ahead of the cost of embarrassment, lol.

If you're curious or if you have any feedback, I'd be grateful if you checked it out and let me know what you think :)

I support this idea! Tracking your work publicly has the dual benefit of letting you do a retrospective, as well as attracting like minded people to the project. Good luck!

One piece of feedback, vertical video doesn't do well on YouTube. You have to shoot and edit for the platform. So landscape on YT, vertical on TikTok/Snapchat etc. You will get more viewers and engagement when your content fits the platform norms. But keep making them, regardless of the orientation!

Thanks, that's a very important point! I tend to default to filming in portrait, so after recording I'm like "ahhh, why". But your opinion has confirmed that it would be worth it to be stricter about filming in landscape :)

I love this idea. I considered doing something similar as well. Looking forward to watching the episodes! Good luck!

Thanks! You should :) I was thinking it could be a timesuck, but it's surprisingly easy to ramble on for 5-10 minutes once the camera starts rolling haha. If you start vlogging let me know your channel.
