Hey Indie Hackers 👋
After months of building and polishing Cachify, my privacy dashboard, I’ve finally started doing what I avoided for the longest time — marketing.
This week, I created and posted Cachify’s first real product video across YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
It shows how your browser silently leaks personal data, and how Cachify helps you check that in seconds.
Honestly, it feels great to see the product come to life outside my code editor. For so long, I was just building and fixing things — but seeing people actually watch, react, and comment is a whole new kind of motivation.
My current plan:
📈 Post regular awareness videos
✍️ Start publishing privacy blogs on Medium
🎯 Focus on educating people instead of just promoting features
I’m learning that marketing isn’t about selling — it’s about showing why what you built matters.

Would love to hear — how did you start marketing your first product? Any tips for early-stage founders doing it solo?
And i'd love any feedback from you!
I have found that a lot of the heavy lifting regarding marketing can be automated with AI and tools such as n8n. You can have it both create and publish social media posts for you fully automatically, I usually opt for a human-in-the-loop setup where a discord bot sends me the posts for review before posting.
Anyway, as a privacy nut myself, I always like to see new privacy tools be released. Something I would like to see more of is the switch from email-based auth to an account number based auth (like mullvad). It just gives me a sense of comfort that a random company doesn't know my email address.
