Hello everyone ๐
I've just started my indie hacking journey and decided to build Starter Index, a directory website where I manually curate boilerplates from across the internet.
In my previous projects, I worked for months on features that made sense on paper, but in reality, nobody wanted them (or I didnโt know how to reach the right audience). I knew I had to change my habits and force myself to ship faster, so I've decided to never build for more than a month on any MVP.
I've built the Starter Index in 10 days. It's still rough around the edges, but I've decided to launch early and hopefully get some feedback.
Let me know what you think.
You should mention which ones are open source.
It is mentioned on each boilerplate page. ๐
It looks great. One thing I noticed is that the links pointing towards the boilerplates do not have target=_blank. This takes the user away from your website which is not in your best interest.
I hadn't noticed that. Will fix it ASAP.
Nice idea. Just my 2 cents but some vanilla bootstrap boilerplate would be a nice addition to the site, only one on the site now is just a basic hello world example.
Thank Fiscian, I will add more bootstrap boilerplates in the next update๐
Hi Stefan. I wish you success with your startup
Thank you ๐ค
I think this is a good developer service, but commercial profitability is more difficult. What do you think about commercial profitability?
I am considering adding sponsored listings and affiliate links.
And you probably know, but there is a big collection of SaaS boilerplates from the last year. Maybe it will help you. I can't add links yet, so you can find it by yourself searching on Indiehackers "A detailed comparison of 35 SaaS boilerplates"
Thanks. Will check it out ๐ค
Hey Stefan,
Thanks for your site, it really helped me! It's funny that I've started investigating the existing boilerplates literally today, and I immediately found this post ๐
Creating it, you probably did great research to find and choose the boilerplates. What do you think about the current market of AI-focused ones?
I didn't find an AI filter on your Starterindex yet. Maybe there are not enough AI-focuser or AI-related boilerplates, or this idea doesn't make much sense... What do you think?
Hey Max. I haven't found any AI-related boilerplates yet.
Maybe because AI products are generally GPT wrappers and relatively easy to implement?
So I created a new one =)
Could you please add my boilerplate too? I also filled out the Google form.
