The other day I was looking up a recipe. I got frustrated trying to find the ingredients and directions and had to read through a novel and 14! ads before I got to the actual recipe. I knew there had to be a better way. After talking with some food bloggers and seeing their struggle setting everything up I think there's a market for a food/recipe blog platform that's geared towards getting a food blog set up quickly, that loads fast and can be monetized differently than annoying ads. I wrote more about the goals and features on twitter.
I'm planning on writing monthly updates in progress, costs and revenue here (and on twitter). I'd love any tips/advice ya'll have.
Would be a very interesting group of audience! Specific enough! Other than setting up a blog, what else would food bloggers need that other bloggers don't? Food for thought :)
Recipe books could be one. Comments geared towards whether the commentor made it exactly or not.
I'd be curious to hear how you're going to help recipe bloggers monetize differently.
When I figure it out I'll let you know! I have some ideas around subscription/recipe books, etc...
