Startup CEO says humans won’t be needed for translation in 3 years as it launches AI app

If you're in translation, this should scare you. Why? Because AI’s getting really good. And I’m not talking about the awkward Google Translate sentences from 5 years ago.

Vasco Pedro, Unbabel’s CEO, said:

"Humans still have a slight advantage... but that advantage is so razor thin."

I’ll give you a minute to process that.

Human advantage? Maybe… if you’re translating a Shakespearean sonnet or figuring out a 15th-century manuscript. But for the everyday stuff? AI’s got it covered

But...

The downside for translators?
Rates are about to drop drastically.
