Startup Idea: Twitch for Coders!

This idea only seems logic to me? I know Twitch already have a small category titled "Science & Technology"... However this category rarely gets any attention since their main focus is video games...

I believe coders, programmers and developers also deserve some spotlight... A p

I like to practice 'yes and' when hearing ideas but critical thinking is important as well.

Why rebuilt Twitch? Why not just use Twitch and make a community?

That is what Ship Stream is doing - https://shipstreams.com/

There are many tools that help with real time code collaboration - https://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/real-time-code-collaboration-tools-for-developers--cms-30494

So what else? Why now? What new twist or focus could you bring?

Could you test this out just by talking to 10 devs and asking they would let you help them get them setup and streaming on Twitch?

Hackers always want to build first. I constantly remind myself to “use the tools readily available”. You’ll move faster that way.

....but then again, what if @csallen simply created a subreddit for indiehackers 🤔

I would definitely straem while coding that sounds fun

This topic has come up a few times, there's definitely appetite for it it seems. I wonder how is best to add something that existing streaming services don't? Like closer integration with something like github, or making it so that users can pay for access to project files or something?

I'd enjoy it as a designer, and I know developers who'd stream too. The other issue is non-disclosure for professionals at companies etc.

    What about designers too?

At one point there was livecoding.tv, but I'm not quite sure what happened to it. I totally agree that there should be a live streaming service for coders!

You know what would be cool, something like stackoverflow but with video replies or something like "best of" scenes of programming sessions. I've recorded myself coding but I ended up with many gigabytes of footage that probably no one would really watch, and I've never watched hours of other coders code, only "notch" for something like 20 minutes because I was interested how he uses the debugger (and his keyboard shortcut usage was cool)

Besides the focus on coders, is there any other features you can come up that is tailored made for them?

Real-time collaboration with multiple users editing code simultaneously! :D

This would be nice for watching a complex system design
