Startup Ideas for Indie Hackers - Newsletter Landing Page - looking for feedback on design and copy

Hi! I'm writing a weekly newsletter where I share startup ideas, opportunities, and trends. Its purpose is to help indie hackers to discover product ideas they can turn into profitable lifestyle businesses.

Here are the two versions of landing page design I have made:
https://startupideas.io/
https://startupideas.io/newsletter

Which one looks better? Which one do you think would convert more?

Do you have any feedback or advice on improving the copy?

  1. 1

They look very similar! Same copy, same image, same call to action

Not sure why one would convert significantly more... But if you A/B test and one converts a lot more please let us know!

I prefer the /newsletter version but would still not provide my email address to either.

Why? I like to see previous editions of a newsletter before subscribing. Adding this is my recommendation and would probably lead to more conversions (provided people like what they see!)
