There are multiple stages of the startup before it reach it's potential. Here I have explained them
Market Gap : This is the phase where you identity the gap or need which is not yet addressed.
Idea : This is the phase where you come up with an idea to address the above identified market gap. In this phase you do lot of assumptions to generate idea.
Idea Validation : In this phase you try to find out if the idea that you put in place really solves the problem. You will speak to actual future customers and immediate influencer your prospective customers. You try to change your assumptions into facts.
Founder Fit : In this phase you will judge yourself if this idea is taken to next level, then do my personal nature and capability allow me to execute in reality.
Marketing Strategy : In this phase you will develop a rough plan on how you can read the potential customers. How much you may have to spend to do so. What kind of connection do you need for the same.
Prototype : In this phase you create a simple, throw away prototype of your product. This can just be screen designs.
Prototype Validation : Here you will show the prototype with real customers who would use your product and ask for their suggestions. Find out if your customers say WOW at any point of time.
Minimal Viable Product : In this stage you create a simple easy to use product that solves just one problem for your customer. Find out how well your product fits into your customer 's workflow.
First Release : Based on the suggestion gathered from the customer, you would make a first release of your product.
Subsequent Release : Again with the continuous feedback, you would improved the product and release new versions
Product Market Fit : One day would come, when customer says it is perfectly what I need. Then assume that you have reached product market fit for that segment of customers -- Not all customers
Marketing , Sales and Support : Now start being a marketing , Sales and support sub system for your startup. The approach changes by industry you operate in.
Stabilize and Improve : After you have new sales flowing in like water, marketing activity happening without any barriers, support is good enough, then you should start improving all these sub systems. Of course you will also improve your product as well with more features.
Grow and Grow : There is a need 5 sub systems working properly to good growth. They are Sales, marketing, fulfillment (basically your product) , operations, customer success. The more optimized they are , faster you grow.
What do you think ? Have I left out any stages ?
