Startups are like plants🌻

It has been 2 months since I launched EarlyBird, and the experience of these past 2 months has been incredibly inspiring.

Starting a startup is like growing a plant:

  • you need to select the right seed 🌱 (idea)
  • provide it with enough light 🌞 (marketing)
  • make sure you don't drown it with too much water 💧 (features).

Additionally, you must be consistent and patient, and with enough perseverance, you'll eventually see the fruits of your labor.

I want to encourage all indie hackers out there, and wish everyone success until the day their flowers bloom.

If you need assistance with validating your ideas, I'm here to help!

That's is a really good metaphor! I will try to protect my plants as good as I can, so they grow into a forest some day ;)

You also need a good soil (target market).

Seed should be a problem rather than the idea though, you can always change if it's a potato or a carrot-based on what the garden (market) needs

Congratulations on the successful launch of EarlyBird! Your analogy of starting a startup with growing a plant is very apt and insightful. Just like plants, startups need to be nurtured and cared for in order to thrive and bear fruit.

Selecting the right idea is crucial, and it's important to make sure that there is a market for your product or service. Marketing is also key to getting the word out and building a user base. And as you mentioned, it's important not to overwhelm your users with too many features, but rather to focus on providing a core set of features that deliver value.

Your words of encouragement to other indie hackers are also inspiring. Starting a startup can be a long and challenging journey, but with perseverance and patience, success is possible. I wish you and EarlyBird all the best as you continue to grow and evolve.
