Stateless functions as a service

Stateless functions and functional programming generally are very neat from a computer science angle as they could be distributed across a very dynamic pool of compute and storage according to needs.

It feels like there's some opportunity here for large compute loads in enterprise - e.g. doing data science, or for communication networks that need to move lots of bits all over the world.
