Hey all. I launched a newsletter to gives away business ideas I’ve researched pretty thoroughly but don’t have time to execute. It’s all for fun in the hopes of improving my idea muscle and maybe get some fun dialogue going. Looking for fellow indie hackers to recommend other pieces of analysis or visual representation they’ve used to convey their business ideas in the past that I could incorporate into the infographics I’ve been making. Better ways of representing TAM? Cool market maps? Would love to hear ideas on how to improve
Don't know about presentation, but it would be cool to add a first step of what should be done next(like trying to get those t-shirts from bands) so that idea list could actually grow into a businesses done by a team in your comments section(or better yet in established forum, like this one). Then if step 1 is done successfully, you(or someone else) can add step 2 and so on until the idea fails and or actually gets executed.
@driu that’s a really cool element to incorporate...So include the first few tactical steps to get it in motion? I really like how you’ve thought about making the ideas a living forum for a community or people to iterate on. Could make for some fascinating experiments to see how far they can get, especially if others lended input as to the best next sequential steps. You’ve got my wheels turning now
Happy to hear that :) I would suggest making a post here with one of your ideas leaving that first step for anyone willing to execute it. The major problem of execution is the lack of motivation and self doubt that you may have but other people may not have that mindset and their input will fuel your fire to go further just as mine did. That way you'll solve your motivation problem and team gathering problem. Not sure if that would work though, but that itself an experiment worth trying out :)
My god these are packed with tons of info. Great work.
one small tiny detail. TAM is specifically "Addressable" I think you mean Total Market (sorry not sure what the actual term is) For example in the used car market a single company will never be able to get 100% of the used car market to use their marketplace.
Thanks @AndrewKamphey appreciate you taking a look! To be honest, I confuse myself with what is included in TAM and it’s definition. Took a shot at doing a bottoms up for each scenario but the category names probably need some refining. You make an excellent point.
