Whenever I'm looking for reviews of a product, I'm finding myself querying " product name reddit review" for genuine and unSEO'd review. It seems I'm not alone. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21521741 , https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18321132
One can build a site that shows me the top voted comments/reviews for product x with a link to the comment. Add a UI like thewirecutter displaying the best, next best, etc... Very little, if any, writing is required.
You can use ai or manual curation to improve it over time. Biz model is affiliate revenue of course.
the idea is good from an ux perspective but a simple !r product-name on duckduckgo and then a simple resorting of that list gives you the same. on google I just would enter 'r android' followed by a second search eg 'oneplus 7t'.
IDK if your value add is that big, then the affiliate business is an add-on. but i wouldn't rely my entire business on affiliate. you need tons of traffic, most don't pay well, many cheat. Then, users would need to return to your site to visit an affiliate which wouldn't be a natural user flow:
why should he go back to your site? even if you built the best price comparison your destination (which I doubt you can because it's a hell of work) has another primary use case which is not price comparison. So users wouldnt get conditioned to use your site to use it as a last step before the close which is crucial to get the affiliate commission.

The primary goal is to save the hours of reading reviews/comments. The link to the reviews is just in case someone wants to dig deep. I think the site is there to affirm that you're making a smart decision because the masses say this is the best product.
As for the affiliate commission, whenever users land on the product review page of the site, a link to amazon/reseller will be prominently displayed just like (wirecutter etc..), as long as they click that once, and don't click another affiliate link the cookie should be there and won't have to worry about being the last visited site.

This is very good idea but it should be implemented well. We have reviews sites like g2crowd, producthunt where likes, comments and reviews are gamed and bought. Review sites and review posts (including review SEO terms) are so easy to game and manipulate that everyone is doing this
