Sticking with Twitter if it goes all-in on a subscription model?

Musk previously hinted at the idea of moving Twitter's business model from ads to subscriptions.

"Nearly all of [Twitter's ]$1.2 billion in revenue in the first quarter came from advertising. ... And with [Musk's] goals to limit content moderation, it’s possible that an advertiser exodus could be on its way anyway. ... If just 60% of Twitter’s 229 million daily active users pay a $2.99 monthly fee to use key features, the company would match the $1.2 billion it made in revenue this quarter." — The Information

Much of The Information's analysis of this possible move compares it to LinkedIn. That's of course a very different product but it's a compelling analogy nonetheless.

Could be a brilliant move, but the last time I saw IHers discuss Twitter Blue, they weren't happy.

I personally enjoy Twitter a lot, but don't need it. So I wouldn't stay on if it requires a subscription. That said I'm sure there would be tiers

"Just 60%" of Twitter's daily active users?? Conversions would be nowhere near that high, but it is a brilliant idea to add subscriptions to Twitter.

My thoughts as well haha ... only 60%
